Day 17 Log

Context: Evening, following meditation.
Intention: Observation and regulation of arousal energy; study of physiology and awareness.
State before practice: Relaxed, curious, steady breath.
Process: Began exploration with awareness spread through the body; maintained slow breathing and minimal muscular tension.

Observations:

  • Rapid physiological response when body remained loose; stronger, clearer heartbeat.
  • Effortful approach created tension and less natural rhythm.
  • Distinct difference between surrender (parasympathetic dominance) and effort (sympathetic activation).
  • Chose to stop at the edge; afterward felt alert yet calm.

Insights:

  • Calm awareness yields sensitivity; strain disrupts it.
  • Curiosity over control creates the most balanced state.
  • The practice is valuable when used to collect data and train regulation, not to chase stimulation.

After-effects: Steady pulse, clear mind, grounded energy.
Lesson for next session: Maintain relaxation as the baseline; observe shifts without chasing them.
