Today, with our new approach to life & meditation, we finally sat post-training in the afternoon, this time in silence, with no earbuds. We just scanned our bodies until they felt relaxed enough. I didn’t want to go overboard today and push myself in boredom or when my body would feel numb, so when I felt the cue to stop for today, I did. A nice 40 minutes session.
My body may naturally feel like sitting longer one time or shorter, depending on what it wants. One thing is for sure, I’m not forcing my body into sitting more than it wants to to earn some suffering medal… No thanks…
I see meditation like giving a dog a bone to chew. It occupies the mind to focus on the body, the breath, the space around your body, or the blackness. All those things relax you so when you go in your day to day life, you’re immersed in what you do. You’re not thinking about what’s next. That’s what this is for.
Having tried both post-training meditation and early morning meditation, I’d say I prefer early mornings.
That way, everything I do starts with immersion. Including my favorite activity, which is training.
